About the Courtyard

Designed by Fletcher Steele and built in the 1920s and 30s, the Rolling Ridge courtyard brings European flair to our New England manor house. The courtyard is surrounded on three sides by our Main House and Carriage House and provides a central resting place for quiet reflection, as well as a picturesque passage between buildings and grounds. In the gallery below, you can find images of the courtyard from the present day, as well as historical photos of the courtyard's construction and later use in the 1950s and 60s.
