God In Yoga

What is “God in Yoga”? Practicing a gentle yoga flow, while focusing on poses and scripture. I
developed this over 10 years ago when I was asked to teach yoga during a retreat I was
attending. The first scripture I used was “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your
soul, all your mind, and all your strength… and love your neighbor as yourself.” Mark 12:30-
31. I also came up with the breath prayers that are used during class. I called it Christian yoga
back then. My "God in Yoga" classes incorporates breath prayers, scripture with yoga
movement, anointing during meditation, a time to listen to God and a different way to pray. I
have come up with movement (poses) that I feel go with a particular scripture. I teach the
poses, then we say the scripture as we do the poses together. Participants learn scripture as they
do the poses. I have expanded the "God in Yoga" ministry to include: chair yoga, and relaxation
yoga. At the end of class I anoint and pray over people who have attended. Prayer, is a way to
ask God for healing of the body, mind, and spirit. I began teaching the “God in Yoga” classes
after completing my yoga teacher training so I can now teach yoga safely.

I received my Yoga Vinyasa Flow 200+ hour Teacher Training Certificate of Completion in Dec. 9,
2018. I took my teacher training at Symmetry a Yoga Alliance Registered School, the Director of
Teacher Training was Missi D’Arcy E-RYT 200/E-RYT 500.

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) 200 hours
from Yoga Alliance. I have more recently taken online classes in chair yoga and yoga nidra (a
meditation class).

I am a Deaconess candidate, I will be consecrated in May. My ministry is a “Holistic Health
Ministry”. It is a ministry of healing and maintaining a healthy body, mind, and spirit. This is
accomplished through “God in Yoga”, prayer and anointing.

This holistic ministry has an aspect of healing the body, spirit, and mind. This happens by
taking time to move the body, quiet our minds, and listen for God to speak. “God in Yoga”
helps to develop stamina, build strength, confidence and better posture. It helps people to be
healthier and develop their bodies into the best they can be.

My home is in Barrington, New Hampshire, near the seacoast. My husband and I have 5 adult
children, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. All of my grandchildren and great
grandchildren live in Illinois and Pennsylvania. I enjoy traveling to see my family, quilting,
reading, identifying wild flowers, and working with computer applications.
