Easter Sunrise Service 2024

Program Details

Join us at 6:15 am on Sunday, March 31, 2024 for a glorious start to your Easter on the shore of Lake Cochichewick at our outdoor Point of Pines chapel. All are welcome.

On Easter morning, we will gather at 6:15 am in the courtyard of Rolling Ridge. Please try to arrive on time or a few minutes early. Coffee and pastries will be available by 6:00 am.

Following an opening reflection, we will walk as a group to Point of Pines, our outdoor chapel along the shore of Lake Cochichewick. There are benches, with plenty of standing room. You are free, however, to bring your own folding chair. Pastor Dan Hayner of Free Christian Church in Andover will be bringing the message.

Please dress warm and walking shoes. Point of Pines is about a quarter mile from the parking lot, which is approximately a 5 minute walk. Because it may be dark when you arrive, you may want to bring a flashlight.

Advanced reservations are requested, but not required.

FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 31st: As of Saturday, March 23rd, forecast has no rain with temperatures in the mid-30's. Prepare for cold. Dress appropriately. We will meet in the Rolling Ridge courtyard at 6:15 am and walk in community to Point of Pines. Coffee will be served as early as 6 am, with coffee and fellowship after the service.

About the Leaders

Lawrence Jay

As Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Jay guides the vision and direction of Rolling Ridge. As well as working with our staff to ensure the best possible guest experience, he partners with retreat leaders to provide excellent programming at the Ridge. A trained spiritual director and ordained American Baptist pastor, Larry (as he is known by friends) is a graduate of UCLA, Golden Gate Seminary, Franciscan School of Theology, American Baptist Seminary of the West, and the Gateways to God Missional Spiritual Direction Program. He is also Adjunct Faculty at Merrimack College in the Masters of Spirituality and Spiritual Direction programs. Eco-spirituality is his passion (and was the subject of his doctoral dissertation), encouraging everyone to live into the fullness of our connection with nature, God, and all people.
