I'm Looking for a Spiritual Directorwith Rolling Ridge staff
To build bridges of understanding, we must take time to listen to the experiences of others.
Rolling Ridge launched "Voices and Stories" as an ONLINE series that uses historical education and contemplative listening to open hearts and minds to the events that have shaped American society today.
Join us ONLINE on Tuesday, October 12th from 11 am to 1 pm (the day after Indigenous People Day/Columbus Day) as we discover the history of the Indigenous People of New England and the laws which have silenced this community for generations. We also look at "the Apology." On December 19, 2009, President Obama signed an appropriations bill into law. Buried within it was an apology to AmericanIndians that remains unrecognized. Curious? We invite you to learn more as we unpack this with Paul and Denise Pouliot, leaders within the Cowasuck Band of the Pennacook Abenaki People.
Although there is no fee for this program, your generous donations to this event will be given directly to COWASS North America which supports the work of Paul and Denise in sharing about the history of the Indigenous People of New England and the efforts of the Cowasuck Band of the Pennacook-Abenaki People. One of their current efforts is to raise funds to purchase their tribal graveyard that is slated for a condo development.
Please check out our website for other events in ourVoices and Stories series.
