The journey of Lent will soon enter into Holy Week as followers of Jesus remember the fullness of his passion that highlights the truths in the "wisdom tradition" of order-disorder-reorder, that is found in the seasons of fall-winter-spring and is remembered in the Paschal Mystery of the Christian tradition as life to death to resurrection. In two weeks, we invite you to remember the spiritual significance of Jesus at Rolling Ridge.
On Wednesday of Holy Week, we invite you to physically embody Jesus' journey through the gentle and slow movements of Tai Chi. Rev. Dr. Hyuk Seonwoo will guide us through the cyclical rhythm as we learn to loosen (Lent), empty (Good Friday), and push (Easter) through the Tai Chi movements. No previous experience of Tai Chi is required as we gather on Wednesday, March 27th and prepare to enter the Paschal Mystery and the climactic last three days of Jesus' life. The focus won’t be learning the formal Tai Chi choreography, but on indwelling more fully in God’s self-giving love, of suffering, death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
On Good Friday, March 29th, we invite you to join us for our annual Sunset Service at 6:30 pm on the shores of Lake Cochichewick at our Point of Pines Outdoor Chapel. With the last seven words of Jesus as our framework, we will enter into a time of contemplative reflection and prayer as we remember the death of Jesus. We will meet in the courtyard of Rolling Ridge and walk together in community to the lake and watch the sun set over Weir Hill. Register online for this community event. Watch the weather and dress warm!
On Easter Sunday, March 31st, we invite you to join us as Rolling Ridge again partners with Free Christian Church to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, his victory over death, and our hope of new life through Christ. We will meet in the courtyard of Rolling Ridge at the very early hour of 6:15 am, and walk together to our Point of Pines Outdoor Chapel. Register online. Coffee will be served. Watch the weather and dress warm!
Make your Holy Week holy by joining us at Rolling Ridge and walking in the footsteps of Jesus through His life, death, and resurrection. May you "loosen," "empty," and "push" to find the hope and love that the Christian faith offers in Jesus.
