At our Rolling Ridge 75th anniversary, we shared our emerging vision of ministry as HEARTH & HOME, as we teach people to HEAR their HEART through ART and EARTH with Hospitality Our Main Event.
HEARTH & HOME is not only a simple catch phrase to capture our priorities as a retreat center, it reflects the upcoming programs and events upcoming at the Ridge.
Gateways, Artist Week, and Earth Day are just some of the ways Rolling Ridge is teaching people to HEAR their HEARTH through ART and EARTH. Check them out below and discover why the Ridge is becoming a spiritual HOME for so many!
Gateways to God is our core program of HEARTH as we focus on deep listening and learn to HEAR our HEART through being present to God and to another through missional spiritual direction. During six in-person retreats at the Ridge over a two year period, our experienced team of leaders will teach participants to walk alongside and listen to the deep nudges of God within the heart and soul journey of another. Registration is open for our next cohort that begins in November. More information is online.
Through the program, "I’ve seen lots of “ah-ha” moments," says Deadra Ashton, our new Gateways Director. "Gateways participants identify times when they have leaped to conclusions about others. They learn to pause and listen, asking clarifying questions rather than offering solutions or advice. They also learn to pay attention to what’s going on inside of themselves as they are listening to another person’s story. They begin to recognize how they might be tempted to project their own story or experience on the other person, and learn to curb that inclination. Oftentimes that exercise just clicks, and participants gain real breakthroughs on how to listen well." If you are intrigued, check out Gateways. You'll be glad you did.
Artist Week at Rolling Ridge celebrates the ART of our HEARTH as we explore the Divine intersection of art and spirituality and build community for those who experience creativity as spiritual expression. Along with overnight options, the week will feature day retreats on SoulCare with Artists (Tuesday, May 28th), Soul Collage with Eliza Goodell (Wednesday, May 29th), and A Joyful Gathering with Deb Kennedy and Kate Young Wilder (Thursday, May 30th). Both amateurs and professionals will find their artistic juices inspired during May 28-31 at the Ridge. Allow the creative flow of the Creator to birth new art in you!
Finally, there's still time to join us for our FREE Earth Day celebration at the Ridge THIS Saturday, April 20th. Register online today! Sponsored in partnership with our eco-partners, Earth Day at the Ridge highlights the EARTH in our ministry of HEARTH as we connect all people, God, and creation through an afternoon of workshops including forest bathing, organic gardening, herbalism, composting, labyrinth, lakeside meditation, and kids outdoor play. With fresh baked goodies from our kitchen, you will also get a taste of HOME as you and your loved ones enjoy a day connecting with the land here at the Ridge. All ages are welcome!
As spring is here, Rolling Ridge's ministry of HEARTH & HOME is also coming into full bloom. We hope that you'll check out Gateways, Artist Week, and Earth Day and all the other opportunities we offer to teach you to HEAR your HEART through ART and EARTH with Hospitality Our Main Event at the Ridge.
