With the sun shining, flowers blooming, and weather warming, spring is here as creation awakens from its winter slumber.  In just a few weeks, the rhododendrons will be in bloom at the Ridge, just in time for our second annual Artist Week.  We invite you to open your creative spirit and join with others who recognize the spiritual joy found in art and creative expression.

Artist Week is a spacious opportunity to spend time with other creative folks who are discovering the divine intersection of art and spirituality and expressing beauty through images and words.  We have overnight accommodations from Tuesday, May 28th through Friday, May 31st (one night up to three), along with day retreats that allow you to artistically respond to the Spirit's working in you.  Click here for more information on overnight accommodations.  Bring your art supplies and spend the week on retreat creating with us!

Our day retreats during Artist Week this year include:

SoulCare with Artists Day Apart on Tuesday, May 28th opens Artists Week with a spaciousness of prompts and options with conversation and inspiration that will spark your creativity.  Join Rolling Ridge Director, Larry Jay, for a day of contemplative exploration using art through reflection and response.  Beginning with our monthly SoulCare with Artist group session (hybrid) in the morning and continuing with afternoon conversations and activities, you will experience the beauty of our emerging community of creative souls at Rolling Ridge.

Our Artist Week SoulCollage® workshop on Wednesday, May 29th invites you to bypass your analytical thinking brain, slow down, and step into your wisdom and creative power.  Join Eliza Goodell for a day of creativity, community, personal reflection, and fun, getting to know the unexplored depths of your soul and your connection to the sacred!  Using cutout images from magazines, you will create your own unique  5” X 8” cards, where each card represents a different part of yourself or your world.  SoulCollage® is a playful, gentle, often joyful way of exploring your life and your deep self.

A Joyful Gathering on Thursday, May 30th opens space for artists, spiritual thinkers, creatives, and delight finders to explore contemplative artful practices.  Join Deb Kennedy and Kate Young Wilder as they share the spiritual practices that shape and define their faith walk as contemplative artists. Join in our life-giving conversation and art-making expressions as we explore unique ways to encounter the holy.  Together, we will be active participants with paints, pens, and other provided art materials to foster joy as you seek the ways of God. And if that doesn't entice you, there will be cake!

Spring is in bloom at the Ridge with Artist Week (May 28-31) being the perfect time to capture the beauty through images and words, community and contemplation, rest and creation. We hope that you'll make plans to join us for a day or stay for the week.  You'll be glad you did.
