Introducing the New Rolling Ridge Website!

January 31, 2025

We're delighted to announce the launch of our all-new website. As a retreat center dedicated to contemplative spirituality and hospitality, we've created a digital space that gives our home on the web a brand new look and feel, while still capturing the beauty, inclusivity, and spirit of Rolling Ridge.

There's a lot to discover on the new site. You'll find beautiful and updated pictures of all our meeting spaces and bedrooms, along with photo galleries of our grounds. You can easily search and filter all our program offerings, learn about our history through interactive timelines, and access everything seamlessly on mobile devices or screen readers.

We hope you like the new website as much as we do!

Design Inspired by Our Heritage

The new website's visual identity draws from our beloved "big pink house," incorporating the salmon and teal colors from the Manor House's shutters and facade that have welcomed visitors for over a century. We worked with professional designers to weave these colors throughout the new design, creating a fresh yet familiar feel.

You may also notice classical labyrinth icons dotted across the pages and used as background watermarks. These aren't just decorative elements—they point to our two outdoor labyrinths and our deepening work in contemplative spirituality using the labyrinth. We want these design elements to serve as reminders of the spiritual journey and the sacred paths we walk in community with God and with others.

Easier Ways to Find Programs and Events

"I want to register for an upcoming program, but I can't find it on your website!"

We've heard that more than a few times over the years. One of our main priorities with the new website was to make it easier for visitors to find and register for programs and retreat offerings.

On our new "Find Programs and Events" page, you can see everything we have to offer. Use the search bar to look up programs or retreat leaders easily by name. You can also use the page's intuitive filters to browse by category and other details. Whether you're looking for free programs, on-site experiences, programs for Lent, or other options, you can now more easily find what you're seeking!

New Photo Galleries of Our Facilities and Grounds

Perhaps you're preparing for an upcoming retreat at the Ridge, or perhaps you want to see how things have changed since you were last here — years or even decades ago!

Our "Facilities and Grounds" page features bright, up-to-date images of every meeting space and bedroom in our historic Manor House. We've also captured the natural beauty of our 38-acre lakeside property, from walking paths to the Memorial Garden to outdoor sculptures. You can use the new search and filter features to quickly narrow down what you're looking for.

The Facilities and Grounds page was one of the most visited pages on our old website, and already one of our favorite new pages on the new one!

Resources for Spiritual Direction and Directors

The Ridge is growing as a place for spiritual companionship and deep listening. We continue to train spiritual directors through Gateways to God (our 2025-2026 cohort had their first retreat with us last week!) and are expanding The Listening Collective, our peer-led membership network for spiritual directors.

We've added dedicated pages for each of these core programs, as well as a resource page for people seeking spiritual direction.

Group Retreats and Guest Services

Hospitality is Our Main Event. We host over a hundred guest groups each year, who work with our Guest Services team to plan retreats and events at the Ridge. Our new website makes this process easier than ever, with beautiful and informative pages for groups looking to book overnight Group Retreats or single-day events. We've also improved our webpage to better serve those seeking private retreats.

Our hope is that the new site will extend our commitment to hospitality, even before people walk through our doors.

Special Thanks

This digital transformation was funded by grants from the United Methodist Foundation of New England. We want to extend our thanks to Rev. David Abbott and the UMFNE grants committee for their invaluable support, which made this project possible. We're also grateful to retreat leader and Board member Kris Girrell for his generous personal contribution. Thank you!

Along the way, our website went through several design revisions. We're especially grateful to Matt Rogers and the design team at TwoBySixteen, a Massachusetts-based firm, who designed the final look of the website and went above and beyond to get this project across the finish line. Thank you!

Whether you're seeking a personal retreat, planning a group gathering, or looking to join our community programs, we invite you to explore our new digital home and find your center at Rolling Ridge.

In peace and gratitude,
Your friends at Rolling Ridge
