Artist Day 2025

Program Details

Join us as we begin Artist Week at Rolling Ridge with a SoulCare with Artists Day! The day will offer a spaciousness of options with conversation and inspiration that will spark your creativity. Whether you are called to Plein Art painting on the grounds, poetry writing by the lake, or sculpting pottery in our pop-up basement art studio, bring your art supplies, journal, and open spirit for a day with fellow creatives who are exploring the divine intersection of art and spirituality at the Ridge.

Our day will begin at 9:30 am, with a hybrid SoulCare with Artist group session at 10:00. Lunch at 12:30, will be followed by afternoon creative inspiration through art and reflection. You are free to join us for as much or as little of the organized sessions as you desire, or simply spend the day living into your own creative space in a community of other creative souls.

Cost: $89.00 (include program from 9:30-3:30, pastries and lunch)

Overnight options and other Artist Week events are available to add on when you register online.

If you would like to stay Monday night into Tuesday, please email us. Online registration for Artist Week only includes Tuesday night through Friday morning.

SoulCare with Artists Day is part of our third annual ARTIST WEEK at Rolling Ridge from May 27-30, 2025.

Artist Week is a spacious opportunity to spend time with other creative folks who are discovering the divine intersection of art and spirituality and expressing beauty through images and words. Our Moses Meeting will be converted into a community Art Studio for the week with workshops and space for artistic expression in all its diversity of forms. You are invited to bring your art supplies and journal to capture the ways you will be inspired by the beauty of the land and the people you will meet as you create during the week. Draw, write, paint, sculpt, create, follow the creative lead of the Creative Spirit.

Artist Week features overnight options with meals (Monday night through Friday morning). Click here for more information. Stay for one night or up to four and use the time and space as your spirit desires. We will have optional Day Apart Retreats (see below) as we welcome others into our community for the day.

About the Leaders

Lawrence Jay

As Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Jay guides the vision and direction of Rolling Ridge. As well as working with our staff to ensure the best possible guest experience, he partners with retreat leaders to provide excellent programming at the Ridge. A trained spiritual director and ordained American Baptist pastor, Larry (as he is known by friends) is a graduate of UCLA, Golden Gate Seminary, Franciscan School of Theology, American Baptist Seminary of the West, and the Gateways to God Missional Spiritual Direction Program. He is also Adjunct Faculty at Merrimack College in the Masters of Spirituality and Spiritual Direction programs. Eco-spirituality is his passion (and was the subject of his doctoral dissertation), encouraging everyone to live into the fullness of our connection with nature, God, and all people.
