El Espíritu Santo y la Justicia

«Y se les aparecieron lenguas como de fuego que se repartieron, y sobre cada uno de ellos se asentó una. Y todos quedaron llenos del Espíritu Santo, y comenzaron a hablar en otras lenguas, según el Espíritu hacía que hablasen.» Hechos 2:3-4

La Pascua celebra la muerte y resurrección de Jesús, dándonos la seguridad de una vida nueva en Cristo. 50 días después de Pascua, los cristianos conmemoramos y celebramos Pentecostés como el día en que el Espíritu Santo fue dado a la iglesia como unción para el ministerio y el poder del evangelio. En preparación a Pentecostés, Rolling Ridge ha planificado un retiro bilingüe de un día en español e inglés para reflexionar las formas en que el Espíritu se mueve en nuestras vidas hoy. En un espacio seguro y sagrado, abrazaremos nuestras diferentes experiencias y espiritualidad mientras nos conectamos como comunidad para descubrir el proceso de discernimiento como un regalo del Espíritu Santo.

A medida que nos abrimos al Espíritu y al lenguaje de nuestro corazón, consideraremos el papel de la justicia al hablar en diferentes lenguas para declarar que el amor de Dios es para todos. como comunidad, compartiremos tiempo juntos en adoración, oración, música y escrituras. Easter celebrates the death and resurrection of Jesus, giving us the assurance of new life in Christ. 50 days after Easter, Christians remember Pentecost as the day the Holy Spirit was given to the church as anointing for ministry and the power of the gospel. As today's headlines are full of injustice and uncertainty, what are Christians called to do? What is the gift of the Holy Spirit for a multicultural church in 2025? What is the role of the Holy Spirit as we discern how to stand up for justice and live out the gospel for all people?

 In preparation of Pentecost, Rolling Ridge is creating a bilingual Day Apart retreat in Spanish and English to discuss ways the Spirit moves in our lives today. In a safe and sacred space, we will embrace our different experiences and spirituality as we connect as a community to discover the discernment process as a gift of the Holy Spirit. As we open ourselves to the Spirit and our heart language, we will consider the role of justice as we speak out in different languages to declare that God's love is for everyone. Corporately, we will share time together in worship, prayer, music and scripture. Individually, you will have time to quietly walk in nature and have time alone with God as you consider your role in speaking up for justice through the Holy Spirit.

Cost: Sliding scale. Please pay what you can upon registration. Suggested price is $75 including program (9:30 am to 3:30 pm), pastries, and lunch. If you can pay more than $75, you will help cover the costs of those who cannot pay the full price. We do not want anyone to be hindered from attending because of finances.
