I'm Looking for a Spiritual Directorwith Rolling Ridge staff
To build bridges of understanding, we must take time to listen to the experiences of others.
Rolling Ridge launched "Voices and Stories" last year as an ONLINE series that uses historical education and contemplative listening to open hearts and minds to the events that have shaped American society today.
Division over LGBTQ+ inclusion has shaped the narrative of the United Methodist Church. With the departure of progressive Methodist congregations, the launch of the new Global Methodist Church on May 1, 2022, and the delay of General Conference until 2024, churches are struggling with what to do to live into their call to be a welcoming and reconciling place for all, regardless of gender identity or orientation.
Join us ONLINE on Thursday, June 23rd from 6:30-8:30 pm as we look at inclusion within the church and consider the role of the Reconciling Ministries Networkas churches wonder how to take a stand during these contentious times. Laura Young from Reconciling Ministries will give information about the network along with local New England churches that will share about their decision. Confirmed churches include First UMC in Melrose and Crawford Memorial UMC in Winchester.
This event is designed to help individuals and churches gather in a safe and sacred space to consider what a step toward intentional inclusion could look like as they prayerfully discern next steps as a community.
Although there is no fee for this program, your generous donation allows Rolling Ridge to continue our mission and ministry of contemplative spirituality. Thank you.
Please check out our website for other events in our Voices and Stories series.
