Rolling Ridge Afternoon Tea

Program Details

Join us on Monday, June 2nd for a special day with Daisy Miller and Afternoon Tea. With the Rolling Ridge gardens and rhododendrons in full boom, it will be a glorious day of community and conversation with tea and time to stroll.

Seating for Afternoon Tea begins at 2 pm, end time is approximately 4pm. The grounds and gardens will be open all day for people to walk, enjoy, and explore.

Tables for Afternoon Tea will be in Tyson Hall, the Lakeside Gallery Dining Room, and pending weather and availability, outdoors on the patio. Book online for yourself, a companion, or a group. Limited number of tickets are available for this first time event so reserve today. And first come first booked, the Oval Room and Library are available for a private tea party with an additional fee.

Prior to the Afternoon Tea, from 1:00-2:00 pm, Lawrence Kessenich will share excerpts from his new book, The Further Adventures of Daisy Miller (released in April, 2025). This Author Chat is free and open to the public. During the Afternoon Tea, you can book a special ticket for Tea and Chat with Lawrence beginning at 2:00 pm, tentatively scheduled for the Rohr Reading Room.

About the Leaders

Lawrence Kessenich

Lawrence Kessenich won the 2010 Strokestown International Poetry Prize in Ireland and has had three poems nominated for Pushcart Prizes. His poetry has been featured in The Sewanee Review, Atlanta Review, Poetry Ireland Review, and many other magazines. Click here for his published books.

He has published five books of poetry and had an essay featured on NPR’s This I Believe series, as well as in their anthology, This I Believe: On Love.

As a playwright, his works have been produced in New York, Boston, and Colorado, where he won an award in a national drama competition.

His first novel, Cinnamon Girl, was published in 2016. His second novel, The Further Adventures of Daisy Miller, will be released in April 2025. Learn more here.
